Julie Nelson, MT-BC, grew up in rural North Georgia in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA, and completed her internship at The STAR Center in Jackson, TN.  After her internship, Julie moved on to work for a private practice, Heartland Therapy, Inc, which is located in Surprise/Peoria, Arizona.  After living in Arizona and working there for 3 years, Julie then moved back home to Georgia and signed on with Metro Music Therapy in the Spring of 2011.  Julie is also currently working as a music therapist at Eastside Heritage Behavioral Health in Snellville, GA.  She is proficient in guitar, flute, piano, voice, and mallet percussion.
